Award winning Black Betty Cafe is a busy, hugely popular cafe in the heart of Christchurch City.
Part of the Switch Espresso family that also includes Bunsen Cafe at the Art Centre, Industrie Espresso Bar and Switch Espresso Coffee Company. We take hospitality seriously.
We are hunting for someone with exceptional talent to join our knowledgeable team for an immediate start.
We currently have an opening in our cafe team for an experienced junior cook who is ready to join us and start learning from our team of superstars!
Experience in a professional kitchen is essential, but we also provide further training to all employees and teach the skills necessary to move up the ladder.
We take our work seriously, but we like to have fun while we do it, so a sense of humour and a bit of spunk doesn't go amiss!
Duties of the successful applicant will include:
- Food handling/preparation
- Cabinet food preparation
- Breakfast/grill cooking
- General kitchen work
Ideal skill-set/experience:
- Bring a passion for food
- previous experience in a professional kitchen
- Be able to prepare food at a fast pace whilst maintaining a high standard
- Have a reasonable standard of presentation
- Be able to work well in a team environment
- Have a positive attitude
- The availability to work weekends
