Consultant Anaesthetist - Wairarapa Hospital

Wairarapa Hospital is based in Masterton, and is within two hours from both Hutt Hospital and Wellington Hospital. Daily rail services link Wairarapa with the Wellington region, including the International Airport and Inter-Island ferry connections.

Wairarapa District Health Board provides secondary services for a population of approximately 40,000, providing 24-hour acute and elective care in general and orthopaedic surgery, medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, and paediatrics. The hospital operates both Public & Private theatre sessions covering General Surgery, Anaesthetics, Orthopaedics, Urology, Endoscopy, Gynaecology, and Obstetrics, as well as Ophthalmic and ENT.
You will be one of five Anaesthetists in a unit which provides a comprehensive service in public and in private for the population of the Wairarapa. Wairarapa District Health Board also has a close liaison with Selina Sutherland Hospital, an independent private facility. As part of this role you will also provide support for the hospitals High Dependency Unit.
This is a full time position with an on call requirement of 1 in 5. Applicants must be eligible for Vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.
