Consultant Addiction Medicine Physician/Psychiatrist Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora – Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District Contract: Permanent, Part time (36 hours p/w) We are looking for aConsultant Addiction Medicine Physicianor Consultant Psychiatrist at ourTuhonohono Addiction Services. The role also involves workingclosely with case managers and other staff within the service, to ensure collaborativecare. The Consultant is also responsible for liaison and support of primarycare providers as well as NGO partners. The role also entails supporting themedical development of this service and liaising with other services/hospitaldepartments as required. Tuhonohono Addiction Services (CommunityAlcohol and Drug Service, Opioid Treatment Service, provision of the ManagedWithdrawal Service and Co-Existing Disorder Service) is a multidisciplinaryteam comprising of nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, specialistmedical staff, and administration staff.We are a collective of skilledprofessionals that value working in a client and whanau centred manner,including cultural and community connections, to deliver high quality servicesto those we work with. Vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ ) HoldFellowship in Addiction Speciality or Fellowship with medical college and be able toregister for vocational registration with the MCNZ Or HoldFellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrist(FRANZCP) Faculty of the chapter of Addiction Medicine can be enteredthrough a number of training pathways (including General Practice) Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care Relevant experience and training The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS ) spans three DHBs - Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHB's and includes local, regional, and national services. The local MHAIDS services are provided from multiple sites within the 3DHB sub-region – greater Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa. Te Korowai Whariki services include regional forensic and rehabilitation services covering the Central region while the intellectual disability services extend the length and breadth of the country from six bases located in Whangarei, Auckland, Cambridge, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin. Capital, Coast andHutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. We operate three hospitals –Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown,Hutt Valley Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital inPorirua – as well as theKapiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.
