JB Building Construction Manager Job Description:JB Building has been operating in the wider Wellington region for over five years. Our growth, underpinned by our can-do and pragmatic approach to a variety of work, sees us looking for a Construction Manager to oversee our job sites, manage the tendering process for future work, and maintain key relationships.Outline of Job:Working across both commercial and residential build projects. We have a range of clients, including high-end residential builds and renovations, hospitality and office fit-outs.Consulting and collaborating with architects, interior designers, tradespeople (construction, plumbing electrical etc) and engineering. Liaising with landlords and developers as required by clients.Client meetings and ongoing relationship management throughout the build process.Preparing tenders and contract bids and providing confirmation of work to subcontractors and suppliers.Operating and implementing coordinated work programs for sites.Interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.Coordinating trades/labour resources plus the procurement and delivery of materials, plant and equipment, including traffic management.Financial management of project budgets, looking for cost savings and better ways of doing things while still maintain standards.Full management of our adherence to local building legislation and standards, including, specified services, arranging building inspections and completing code of compliance.Quality assurance - overseeing the standard and progress of subcontractors' work.We're looking for someone with a minimum of five years' experience. We will also consider an application from those with suitable proven formal qualifications - Bachelor of Engineering, Construction, Construction Management, etc. - who may not yet have five years of experience.About us:Join our small company, working directly with the Managing Director to have a measurable impact on our next stages of growth.We work across the wider Wellington region. The role is based in our home office in Whitby, with travel as required.Competitive pay, approximately $75,000-80,000 per year for a 40-hour week. Some after-hours work, weekend work, and overtime will be required to meet deadlines.
