Community Services Coordinator - North CanterburyThe world is fast changing, and the needs of whanauraising tamariki have changed dramatically in recent years. Our communityservices provide supplementary support to our clinical teams to supportholistic whanau wellness, provide helpful services and supporting strongercommunity bonds.
We're seeking a dynamic Community ServicesCoordinator to join our team in North Canterbury on a part time (10 hours per week) permanent basis.
This position could be based in Rangiora or Kaiapoi and t he hours you work can be negotiated across Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Our Community Services Coordinators ensure ourcommunity-based initiatives such as our parenting groups and programmes runsmoothly, and our volunteers are well supported. You will have theopportunity to build connections with local community groups to developinitiatives that promote healthy confident whanau and pepi.
To support these initiatives, you might supportevents, whanau groups and fundraising initiatives and work alongside other Plunket teams. This role involves ensuring our volunteers are prepared, informedand feel connected to our Kaupapa.
This role requires a degree of flexibility which couldbe the perfect match for your needs. Working across North Canterbury andwith volunteers means that the day to day needs will change, but the mahi alsoallows flexibility to work from home from time to time with the ability tomanage the eclectic mix of face to face, virtual and administrative work aroundyour life.
The pay rate for this role is $26.00 per hour. To thrive in this role, you will be confident inengaging with local groups and be able to effectively build relationship withwhanau. You will have had prior experience working in a role where you builtpositive relationships and were able to diagnose needs before working towards asolution. Prior experience working in a community setting or with volunteerworkforce will be advantageous but not essential.
This could mean that you are a parent who has adeep understanding of the needs of whanau in your community and you're lookingto get into a role that allows you to deliver on this. We're open to a varietyof backgrounds, so long as you bring the passion for advancing and promotingservices which will make a genuine difference to whanau.
You will also need a full NZ Drivers Licence –although when you do travel for work, it will be during the work day and in oneof our Plunket vehicles.
