Te Turanga | About the roleAs a Community Relations Advisor, you'll provide communications and engagement advice, planning, and delivery for Tauranga City Council projects that are transforming our city.Our purpose is to go further than just communicating with our communities. In our team you will tell the stories that matter, create content people want to engage with, and ensure all our residents and ratepayers can share their views and aspirations.We are a diverse and passionate bunch who work hard to put the community at the heart of everything we do.This is a fixed-term role to cover maternity leave.Day to day you will be:Providing communications support and guidance to project teams across councilDeveloping and implementing communications plans and activitiesCrafting content for online and social media channelsDrafting media releases and responding to media enquiriesWorking with our creative and digital team to produce top notch design collateral Nga Pukenga | What you'll need to succeedA degree or diploma in communications, journalism, or public relationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritiesAn understanding and interest in online platforms and social media trendsMedia relations experience and knowledge of the local media landscapeKnowledge of Public Information Management is advantageous, but not essential.
