Community Mental Health Nurse - Te Roopu Whitiora (1.0 FTE, Permanent) at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Te Tai Tokerau, Northland Are you a Registered Nurse with a passion for Mental Health Nursing? Right now, our team at Te Roopu Whitiora, Community Maori Mental Health Team are seeking an experienced nurse to join us. This is a full time role (40 hours per week) based in Whangarei.
Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Maori as Tangata Whenua as the highest priority.
We are a service committed to ongoing professional and cultural development within the parameters of the expected scope of practise for this position.

About You: Our ideal applicant will have experience of working with tangata whaiora and their whanau living with the effects of mental illness in our community and a proven ability to communicate well with tangata whaiora, their whanau and colleagues, and engage Maori in making choices that enhance their wellbeing.
A commitment to improving health outcomes, cultural safety and quality of care for Maori is desired.
Qualification and skills required: NZ Registered Psychiatric or Comprehensive NurseNZ full Drivers LicenseMinimum of 5 years' experience in acute and/or kaupapa led community mental health nursing practiceKnowledge of mental health nursing theory, practice, legal boundaries and ethical concernsWithin this role, you will work alongside other Kai Mahi Maori within a supportive team environment of health professionals that is committed to delivering an excellent clinical and cultural service that reflects the needs of our tangata whaiora and their whanau.
