Community Engagement Manager

Community Engagement Manager
Company:

Waitemata District Health Board (North & West Auckland)

Place:

Auckland

Job Function:

Management

Details of the offer

We need just the right person to help us take engaging with our community to the next level and develop our community engagement strategy and practices, coordinate the engagement programme for the DHB, build capability and lead strategically significant engagement projects.
The Waitemata region is growing hugely and our population is one of the most diverse in the country. This is an exciting time to be coming on board, with the recent establishment of our Consumer Council. The Council provides a new voice for the community while working to enhance patient experience and contribute to better health outcomes.
This role will work closely with the Council, but will have a special focus on ensuring the voice of the community comes to the table. In planning for the future we need to understand what our communities think and that can often mean reaching out to those who are not usually heard.
This senior position will report to the Director of Funding; Planning, Funding and Outcomes team. It is primarily focused on improving engagement with Waitemata communities, to enable them to be proactively involved in influencing and maximising health care delivery. You will have the ability to analyse and interpret community responses using robust methodologies to provide meaningful input into DHB projects and to drive solutions to local problems.
The role will lead both strategic and operational advice on best practice community engagement approaches, the development of engagement strategies and implementation and evaluation of delivery plans and activities. It will also require someone who is confident working with senior staff and strategic stakeholders including other agencies.
The successful candidate will be a committed engagement professional, have a track record of working on a range of community engagement projects and be inspired to build the community engagement practice of this significant health organisation.
