About the Opportunity: Working alongside a supportive and fun team of professionals, you'll be at the forefront of connecting the wider community with Council and relevant stakeholder groups.
Key responsibilities include:
Implementing a diverse range of engagement methods to enable communities to contribute to the development of council and community projects and plans. Providing strategic advice on community engagement, gathering input for Council's work programs, and integrating community perspectives into plans, policies, strategies and projects. Working closely with relevant stakeholder groups to foster strong connections and partnerships, facilitating a cohesive approach to community development. Coordinating Council event processes and guidelines to support organisers to run successful events in the community. About you Naturally, you will be a resourceful and collaborative individual with excellent communication and listening skills and the ability to connect and foster strong and respectful relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders including iwi and our communities, who are at the heart of everything we do.
In addition, you will need:
A degree in a relevant field such as Social Policy or Social Science Strong proven experience in community engagement, facilitation, and stakeholder management Knowledge of Community Development Principles and Practice Knowledge of tikanga Maori and experience in engaging with iwi A current valid NZ Drivers Licence, as travel is required within the region.
