Community Development (Community Services & Development) Do you want to make a difference in the Napier community? We a looking for an experienced, innovative, can-do Advisor to join our high energy Community Strategies team on a permanent basis. As a Community Advisor, you will enjoy working on projects with the community. You will provide advice and support to the voluntary sector and will contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of community strategies, policies and plans. In addition, you will engage with the community, to communicate and seek input on Council's policies and decisions. To be successful in this role, you will need to have: Tertiary degree qualification or equivalent in social policy, public policy, community development or related field Previous experience in a Community Advisor or similar role Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including report writing, facilitation and presentation skills Demonstrated organisational, planning and project management skills Knowledge and understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its implications within the local government context This is a genuine opportunity for someone wanting to progress their career within a fun and supportive environment.
