Position Overview

The Riddet Institute is a world-best research centre in food and nutritional sciences, providing fundamental scientific understanding and training for a new generation of science leaders. The Institute integrates partner organisations (Massey University (host), Auckland and Otago Universities, AgResearch and Plant & Food Research) and disciplines, leading a "NZ Inc" approach to food research, and generates knowledge and capability that transforms the New Zealand food industry.

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Communications Officer to join the team in a fixed term, 12 month maternity cover role promoting the Riddet Institute and ensuring a positive public profile through high quality external and internal communications.

With a focus on digital media, you will be showcasing excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to translate science into creative, clear, and interesting messages for target audiences in a fast-paced environment. We embrace thought leadership and encourage exploring innovative formats and channels for communication. 

Working closely with the Institute's management, researchers, partner Institutions and industry clients, as well as Massey University communications staff, external media organisations and graphic designers you will join the supportive and enthusiastic administrative team providing general administration of the Institute,

Based in Palmerston North. This is a 1.0 FTE position for approximately 12 months to cover a period of Parental Leave - applications will be reviewed as received so apply now!
