Due to company growth and technology advancements they need a highly skilled Communications Engineer/Technician to join their team. Reporting to the Directors, this is an exciting opportunity if you are looking for a new challenge and have proven skills which you would like to develop further. About the roleProviding leadership in all technical areas, programme equipment, design, install and manage repeater/communication systems, project work, equipment assessment and repair; this role is busy and varied, with no two days the same.The role would suit an IT or radio engineer with a good understanding of IP protocols, networks and DMR technology.Key Duties include:Research product capabilities and develop relevant applications in the fieldDesigning, building, and managing all types of repeater/critical communication systemsBuilding and managing wireless microwave radio and fixed IP linksProvide leadership on technical resourcing and knowledge as required to solve technical challenges, customer issuesClient application provision; including; including GPS, lone worker or telemetry servicesCommunication high site work; including IP networking, RF and power supply designCellular and DMR integration; including emerging technologies like PTT over cellular The successful candidate will:Hold Radio Communication/IT QualificationsHave a minimum 2 years' radio communications/IT experienceHave a keen interest in technology and developing practical applications in forestry, farming, tourism and other industries requiring critical communication solutionsBe a self-starter who can plan their own workload but also take directionHave excellent problem solving and project management skillsBe able to prioritise and work under pressureHave a "can do" attitude and customer focussed approachHave proven leadership ability and ability to work within a teamHave excellent oral and written communication skillsHave good physical fitnessA Full driver licenceWhy Alcom Communications?ALCOM are a reputable employer, with a loyal customer base.
