We're seeking a dynamic communications and engagement pro to join our team on a six-month contract, while our colleague is off with another part of the business on a secondment. As part of this role, you will be part of bringing this to life with our generation communities and Aotearoa New Zealand more broadly. Our Sustainability team is focused on guiding Mercury to make positive contributions to the future of Aotearoa by championing sustainable practices, policies and pathways. You'll play a key role as our Communications & Engagement Manager. Key responsibilities include: Finding ways to bring to life Mercury's purpose for external audiences and communities in which we operate. Designing and delivering communication and engagement activities that deliver on key objectives. Providing specialist communications advice and enable the broader business. Developing and representing Mercury positions externally and ensuring consistency of these messages. Building up Mercury's profile around key leadership positions and business initiatives in alignment with key strategic objectives. This is your opportunity to play a key part in how we engage with our community and stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Please note that this role has no direct reports. We are looking for: Background in public relations/ communications Proven ability in developing and implementing strategic communications and community engagement plans Sound understanding of company strategy and the Te Ao Maori context Strong interpersonal skills including proven ability to build and develop strong relationships. Working collaboratively is key to the success of this role, and you'll be working with the Reputation & Social Impact team, the wider sustainability team as well as colleagues working within our generation and portfolio business to help build alignment and share perspectives.
