Communications Advisor for ACT Caucus Support Centre at Parliamentary Service, Wellington - Wairarapa About the role ACT is looking for a Communications Advisor to join their team at the Parliamentary precinct in Wellington for 40 hours per week. You'll be entrusted to provide a strong foundation of support to ACT MPs on a wide range of communication activity.
Working as part of the team, you'll step into an environment that is unique, exciting, and rewarding. This position offers real variety and plays a vital role in supporting Aotearoa New Zealand's democracy.
The Communications Advisor will have the following: Support the Senior Press Secretary and Director of Digital as required, under supervision of the Director - ACT Caucus Support CentreReport to the Senior Press Secretary in supporting ACT's Caucus to identify, litigate and campaign on political issuesReport to the Director of Digital in supporting the ACT Caucus' activity across all social media - posting, ideating content, briefing graphic designers etcSupport the ACT Caucus in developing communication material for all media, including, but not limited to:Press releasesCopywritingSupport the ACT Caucus in ensuring there is a steady stream of content across social media platformsSupport the ACT Caucus in the monitoring of media, including social mediaSupport the ACT Caucus in being highly effective communicators across their portfolios and wider political issuesOffer wider support to the Caucus Support Centre where needed - the small, agile team prides itself on a positive startup culture where each person steps up to do what is required.Ideally, you will be/have: Flexible and adaptableCalm under pressureIndependently motivated; a self-starterOpen and collaborative interpersonal communication styleOpen-minded, eager to learn and contributePositive, solutions-focussed worldviewGood pattern-recognition, excited by the idea of making decisions within a complex political context where there is often no single correct answerWhy work for Parliamentary Service?
