About this role|   Ko tenei turanga mahi We're looking for a Communications Adviser passionate about our Whakatu Nelson community and dedicated to providing engaging communication in partnership with our Community Services portfolio. Covering our events, our work in the community with a wide variety of different groups, and telling people about the fascinating work that goes into running our parks, reserves and facilities, you will work across a number of groups on a diverse range of projects, having the opportunity to deliver honest and authentic communication about Council's work in this vital area. About you | Ko nga pumanawa ou As a Communications Adviser, you will have a high degree of autonomy to get stuck in and shape your tasks to maximise reach and engagement within the community. Skills you will bring to the role: A resourceful self-starter and dynamic multi-tasker, able to quickly understand different issues, manage conflicting priorities, and get work done to a high standard. Experience working in a local government environment or previous experience in a community focused communications role would be beneficial. The ability to write clearly and concisely and tailor messages different audiences Effective Relationship management skills with a high level of empathy - you will enjoy working with different communities within the region Photography and videography confidence would be advantageous.
