Cloud Systems Engineer

Soul Machines is on the hunt for more great people for the growing team based in Auckland. We're on the hunt for a Cloud Systems Engineer. As a Cloud Systems Engineer, you will work on systems design, release engineering, automation, and operations. You will be tasked with defining improving, fixing, and extending the architecture, processes and monitoring systems used to host our cloud services, both external and internal. Familiarity with running production Linux environments is crucial, along with a solid background in AWS. This role involves some customer contact.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement software and processes to maximise service levels and operational efficiency.
Release engineering, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automation.
Day to day operations of cloud infrastructure.
Influence the design and implementation of a large-scale distributed system.
Rostered customer support for external facing cloud systems; providing triage, diagnosis and remediation where practical.

Essential skills & Qualifications:
3+ experience defining, configuring and maintaining Linux servers
Experience working in an Agile DevOps environment
Deep TCP and Internet protocol knowledge
5+ years AWS administration / architecture
Good written and oral communication skills
Experience with at least one scripting toolset

Desired skills:
AWS Certified
Deployment of containerized applications
Working knowledge of Terraform & Ansible
GCP or Azure experience
