The Role An exciting opportunity has opened for an innovative Cloud Operations Engineer to join our global Cloud Operations team. In this key role you will bridge the developmental and operational aspects of delivering world class cloud solutions, ensuring our solutions are visible, resilient, recoverable, sustainable, and secure.
Our Cloud Operations team spans New Zealand, Canada, and Brazil. We're responsible for ensuring the Seequent Production Infrastructure operates at peak performance 24/7. From untangling complex production issues to enabling our development teams to managing security events and uptime, our work is critical to our company's success. Please note, this is a hybrid position to be based out of the Christchurch office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Collaborate with development teams to contribute to the design, build, documentation, and implementation of scalable deployment processes for all products and solutions. Assist in defining, documenting, and automating the build of standardised infrastructure for solution deployments. Ensure high-quality support experience for customers and internal staff. Ensure excellent customer experience with installations and upgrades. Proactively prevent outages or downtime through effective monitoring and response actions Help address platform issues through review and enhancement of our platform monitoring configuration. Identify process improvement opportunities and design solutions, advocating for their adoption. Contribute to resolving issues and preventing their recurrence by addressing inadequate processes, policies, or standards. Establish best practices for cloud deployment and support processes. In order to be successful in this role, you should have: Extensive experience in the delivery and reliability of cloud services. Exceptional technical system and cloud support skills combined with a customer-focused mindset. Deep knowledge and direct experience in tackling the critical challenges of delivering secure, scalable, and dependable cloud platforms. Proven commitment to building and maintaining a body of current knowledge of cloud platform architecture, delivery, and reliability. Strong interpersonal skills and a knack for building relationships within a large, dynamic, and diverse team. Ability to relate to and empathise with those around you, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.Tools we prefer:  Linux, Azure, AWS, Terraform, and Helm.Understanding of networking concepts, IP addressing, etc.Experience with Python, Bash/SH, or PowerShell (or a strong desire to improve in these areas). Why you will enjoy working with us..
