As an expert in your field, guide the implementation and operational management of specialist technologies and provide expert services delivery in line with strategic roadmaps. You will participate in informing strategy with respect to the evolution of technology, its adoption and understanding and making recommendations of which technology is fit for UCs needs and futures, and which isn't.You will possess a breadth of knowledge across Cloud technologies, an in-depth understanding of engineering tools and techniques, and demonstrated thought leadership abilities that are recognized by peersSpecifically, you will have:At least 5 years' experience in IaaS, PaaS and SaaS engineering and solutions.Extensive hands-on experience with building and managing scalable cloud services, including experience with at least one private Cloud Services platform (OpenStack, vCloud Suite, CloudStack).Proven ability to motivate others, getting the best out of individuals and groups through empowering autonomy and a sense of personal ownership.Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to manage relationships, educate, influence and support individuals across multiple experience levels.Excellent problem solver with a creative streak and critical thinking skills who loves finding innovative solutions for clients using those skills.Can pick up and learn new skills and knowledge, including technical things, quickly and well.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Knows the environment, is bold, has the courage to address difficult issues and say what needs to be said.Experience in one or more related cloud technology areas (DevSecOps, containers, serverless, APIs, continuous delivery patterns, IaC, cloud-native app development, etc).Ability to undertake tasks in a dynamic environment including meeting deadlines, demonstrating commitment to customer service, working with limited supervision, and adhering to workplace standards, procedures, and agreements.Mahi Ngatahi | Who You Will Work WithBuilding world-class digital capability is crucial to the University of Canterbury's ongoing success.
