This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated team of Research Nurses, fostering a culture of encouragement, support, compassion and excellence in patient care. An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead and manage a team of Research Nurses and the Clinical Trials Unit at Tauranga Hospital. The Clinical Trials Unit has grown significantly since establishment in 2009 and has a leading reputation for clinical trial management.  A key aspect of this role is to secure new opportunities for the conduct of commercial clinical trials at the Clinical Trials Unit, partnering with national and international organisations and local Principal Investigators.  Employment is on a permanent part-time basis, hours are negotiable. A dynamic and motivated leader with business acumen is needed to continue the development of this self-funded unit. A commercial focus is important along with strong organisational, financial, interpersonal and negotiation skills. As a senior nurse, or a person experienced in the management of clinical trials, you will collaborate closely with hospital services, sponsors, Principal Investigators, and international pharmaceutical companies. Your role will involve providing leadership, coaching, and guidance to our nursing team, contributing to the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the department. You will have the ability to establish and monitor complex budgets and experience in the management of external contracts. Moreover, you will have a proven track record of leadership of clinical teams and demonstrate your ability to nuture and develop our valued workforce.
