Clinical Psychologist and Neuro Psychologist Children and Young Persons Contractor or Part or Full time Leading Brain Injury Rehabilitation Provider Wellington Location Personal and Professional Development ABI Rehabilitation is currently recruiting Psychologists to work in our community team to provide evidence based community rehabilitation for children and adolescents who have had a brain injury in the greater Wellington region Clients vary in severity of their brain injuries from mild e g concussion to severe The community service provides clinic home and school based rehabilitation for young people and their wh nau and families as they return to school work family and daily life Working at ABI offers unique opportunities for professional growth and teamwork with psychologists and other clinicians We are keen to recruit a child adolescent Clinical Psychologist for assessment and therapeutic intervention as well as an established Neuropsychologist who has previous experience in carrying out Neuropsychological assessments for children and adolescents The job description includes Working with children adolescents and their families and wh nau Clinical Psychology child adolescent and family therapy for traumatic brain injuries and other accident related mental health concerns e g PTSD anxiety depression adjustment Supporting young people as they deal with the challenges of return to school and return to social and family life Community education about brain injury and rehabilitation with ABI partners in schools hospital government and advocacy organizations Paediatric Neuropsychologist Screening Concussion Assessment Comprehensive Neuropsychological Assessment for children and adolescents with traumatic brain injury TBI Working within an interdisciplinary treatment team Based on experience and interest the position may also include Behaviour Management Interested individuals must have registration with the NZ Psychologists Board under the clinical scope and will have professional body membership e g NZCCP NZPS Ideally you would have at least 2 years postgraduate experience working with children adolescents who have a neurological disorder or injury Candidates for the Neuropsychologist role would also be registered as having the Neuropsychology scope by the NZ Psychologists Board and if not could be supported by ABI to gain the appropriate skills to register For further enquiries please contact Kristen Clarke Community Services Manager 021 896543 or 021 896 543
