The Salvation Army Wellington Bridge Service is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified addictions counsellor or registered health professional for our service here in Wellington. The Salvation Army Wellington Bridge Service provides safe, integrated, high-quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. Our services are evidenced based best practice and are known for being people-centred, caring, transformative and responsive. About the Role: This role is designed to work with people in the community with severe and enduring substance use disorder who have high and complex social, neuro-cognitive and physical health needs, and who have difficultly accessing or maintaining access with services. They require high intensity outreach and case management to help navigate and engage with services. What will your responsibilities be: Work with people in the community with severe and enduring substance use disorder. Work within a multi-disciplinary team. Manage a clinical case load. Our ideal candidate will: Tertiary alcohol and drug qualifications or qualifications in a closely related field such as social work, psychology, nursing. Professional registration or working towards obtaining. Experience in managing a clinical workload. An awareness of the requirements of the treaty of Waitangi and be willing to work from a bi-cultural perspective. Ability to work with people from other diverse backgrounds and cultures. Ability to work within a team environment and also independently when required.
