Waitemata District Health Board (WDHB) is the largest mental health provider in NZ with services for children, adult and older adult as well as specific services aimed at specialised populations including two regional services: Forensic Mental Health Service (Forensics) and Community Alcohol and Drugs Service (CADS). It has strong collaboration and partnerships with a number of Non-Government Organisations (NGO) and Primary Health Organisations (PHO) in the region.
This is an exciting role which will work closely with the Auckland CADS Leadership team and the other nursing leaders across the Specialist Mental Health and Addictions Service Group.
Working with the Nurses, Team Managers and Leaders of CADS this role will provide nursing leadership as well as clinical and professional support. The role includes strategic leadership relating to service development and improvement, the monitoring of nursing quality improvement activities, workforce development (with a specific focus on undergraduate placements and new registered nurses for their first year of practice) and nursing leadership.
The successful applicant must have proven leadership and clinical expertise in Mental Health and Addictions Nursing and have demonstrated active engagement in their own professional development.
To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated and self-directed Registered Nurse with the following:
Post graduate qualification in Mental Health and Addiction Nursing with a current Annual Practising Certificate
A current Level 4 or senior nurse professional development and recognition portfolio
Minimum of five years nursing experience in the Mental Health and Addictions sector
Demonstrated Leadership skills
