As the Clinical Midwife Manager you will work collaboratively with the Midwife Manager in the operational management of our maternity unit and the promotion of clinical midwifery professional standards. Some key deliverables include but are not limited to: Clinical leadership to our dedicated team Coordinate the day-to-day functioning of the unit. Managing staff and patient flows across the unit Staff rostering Ensuring discharge planning processes are timely and robust Quality initiatives to deliver safe, patient focused care Mou ake | About you Alongside your proven clinical leadership skills, our ideal candidate will also bring extensive midwifery experience and be an excellent communicator. Some of the skills we are looking for are: It is essential that you are a NZ Registered Midwife and hold a current annual practicing certificate. To achieve our maternity and broader population health goals we work in partnership with Iwi, primary care and community providers, rural trust hospitals and education and research partners across the district. Here at Southland Hospital, we operate an 18-bed integrated unit handling approximately 1,200 births a year as part of a full range of primary and secondary maternity services. As the only secondary birthing unit in Southland, we offer inpatient and outpatient antenatal, delivery and postnatal services and a Lactation Consultancy Service.
