This is an exciting opportunity to lead a highly motivated multi-disciplinary team dedicated to supporting people toward improved hearing and quality of life through cochlear implants. About Us: The Southern Cochlear Implant Programme (SCIP) provides cochlear implant services under contract to Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People, living in the South Island and lower half of the North Island. Our mission is to provide cochlear implants to those in need across all age ranges, so they can fully engage with their whanau and communities. We have two clinics, based in Christchurch and in Lower Hutt. Role Overview: This is a senior role that would suit an experienced cochlear implant clinician with previous team leadership experience in areas of Audiology, Speech or Hearing Science. You will be an integral part of the management team, providing leadership to clinicians to ensure efficient and effective clinical practise. Key Responsibilities: Develop clinical practise based on contemporary research which meets legislative standards Provide input into strategic planning in conjunction with CEO Develop and oversee implementation of clinical protocols across the clinical programme Develop and maintain processes and systems for patient management, and patient outcome reporting Foster a supportive and collaborative environment, encouraging professional growth and quality service delivery Your skills and experience: You will be well organized, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be confident making and carrying through with decisions. You will have the ability to multi-task and be flexible in responding to clinical demands. You will have A recognized post-graduate qualification in speech or hearing science with a current practicing certificate and a strong clinical background Previous experience working with those with severe-profound hearing loss and in particular those with cochlear implants Previous experience in a clinical leadership role Excellent planning and organisational skills Robust IT skills Ability to travel out of town, within NZ and overseas We offer A comprehensive and competitive remuneration package Professional development opportunities both in NZ and overseas Assistance with relocation expenses for the right candidate Opportunities to participate in research If you are interested in joining an organisation passionate about supporting people in their journey toward improved access to spoken communication we would love to hear from you.
