Ill patients are likely to require enteral, parenteral, or oral nutrition support (or a combination of these) to meet their nutritional needs. The dietitian is best placed to provide nutritional advice to the multi-professional team on the optimal way to manage the nutritional needs of ill patients. C linical experience and up-to-date knowledge across inpatient and outpatient settings. A working knowledge of dietetic intervention techniques, including patient centred goal planning, malnutrition diagnosis and interventions, and acute caseload management. Registered dietitian with the New Zealand Dietitians Board with a current annual practicing certificate. Hold an endorsed prescriber scope of practice. E vidence/Best practice focused in service delivery. Be computer literate with a broad based understanding of computer skills, including use of basic Microsoft programmes, and Proficient in use of health related programmes.
