Does this sound like you?Our incumbent hospital IPC Nurse Lead is about to take a period of extended leave, so we are looking for someone interested in a 12-month fixed term opportunity. While this position is advertised as 0.6FTE, we may have additional hours available in other areas of the hospital for the right candidate. Talk to us about what might work for you!The main responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):To develop and implement the hospital IPC programme and antimicrobial stewardship programme in alignment with the national IPC programmes and ensure risks of infection for patients, employees and visitors are minimised. You will also support, educate and advise on matters relating to IPC and ensure compliance with the Nga Paerewa standards. Perform surveillance activities and provide feedback on patient outcomes to the hospital IPC committee and specialists.This is a role that requires someone with an ability to work autonomously, is self-motivated, can prioritise, balance a dynamic workload, able to foster strong relationships with multidisciplinary stakeholders, is detail focused, enjoys learning and has strong communication skills.Education and qualifications required:· Registered Nurse with IPC experience or previous involvement in an IPC Team· Preferably with Post Graduate papers in IPC related subject (Level 7) or Working towards Level 8/Masters) although not essential and will consider previous relevant experience· Broad clinical experience in a surgical setting· Proven written and verbal communication skills· Demonstrated ability to understand and implement contemporary IPC practices· Subsidised health insurance· Christmas and New Year breaks· Nursing Council of New Zealand approved PDRP· Flexible working arrangements.
