Your role and responsibilities as a truck driver include: 1. Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods from one location to another. 2. Adhere to traffic laws and maintain safe driving practices at all times. 3. Load items onto the delivery vehicle in a secure and organized manner. 4. Unload items at the designated delivery location, taking care to handle packages appropriately. 5. Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. 6. Utilize navigation tools or GPS devices to find the most optimal paths. 7. Confirm the accurate delivery of items to the designated recipients. 8. Obtain required signatures, take photos, or use electronic systems to verify deliveries. 9. Provide basic information about delivered items and address customer inquiries professionally. 10. Perform regular vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition. 11. Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate channels. 12. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including addresses, delivery times, and any incidents encountered. 13. Complete required paperwork or digital documentation accurately and promptly. 14. Adhere to industry regulations and safety standards, especially when transporting hazardous materials or sensitive goods. 15. Prioritize safety by following company policies and guidelines, both on the road and during deliveries. 16. Manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. 17. Check ROC, COF and registration weekly To be successful in this role, you must hold: Must hold NZ Class 5 Driving License or equivalent overseas license. · Physically active as you will be responsible for loading/unloading at client's sites. · Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety. · Must be willing to communicate and cooperate. · Safely operates a delivery vehicle in compliance with company and NZTA guidelines.
