URGENT COOL LOGISTICS LTD is part of the Urgent Group of companies that include Urgent Couriers and B2C Logistics. Urgent Cool is based in Palmerston North with nightly runs to and from Hawkes Bay, Taranaki and Waipukurau Sunday to Friday with local metro trucks based in Hastings, New Plymouth and Palmerston North. We are currently looking for a Palmerston North based class 4 driver to perform driving, loading and unloading duties, pick ups and deliveries within the regions we currently service. Your day will start in the early hours of the morning and finish early afternoon, so you will have some time for life after work. Due to the early start this role will suit someone that is self-disciplined and extremely reliable as this role is one that is relied on by our customers 6 days per week Monday to Saturday (Early finish on Saturday Mornings)
The week day hours will likely be from 3am to 12pm (midday) with Saturdays finishing around 9am. This role works very closely with our clients so professionalism is also a must.
As a Driver you will report directly to the Operations Supervisor and be responsible for-
• Doing necessary checks before performing deliveries
• Load and unload trucks
• Providing excellent customer service
• Comply with Health and Safety and NZTA requirements
• Communicating openly with other team members for smooth flow of operations
• Ensuring you work in a clean and safe work-space
• Assist with maintaining clean and tidy vehicles
• Ensuring all deliveries are made on time while maintaining quality
Skills and Experience (What you need) - Successful candidates will have the following-
• Class 4 Minimum (5 would be a bonus)
• A positive can-do attitude
• Some computer experience (sign on glass handheld)
• Previous experience as a driver is a must
• Understanding of refrigerated transport (helpful)
• Great work ethic
• Reliable and committed to doing it right
• Ability to self- motivate and work unsupervised
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Current fork-hoist licence with Solid forklift operating skills a must (we can help if expired)
• NZ Residency or a valid work visa
