Role Overview Guangzhou Restaurant in Gore seeks a skilled Chinese Cuisine Chef to join our dynamic team in our bustling restaurant establishment.The primary goal of this position is to deliver an exceptional dining experience to our valued customers. In addition to creating and preparing exquisite dishes, the ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills to engage with restaurant staff and customers when necessary. The ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, excel in teamwork and demonstrate proficiency in tasks such as ordering supplies, managing inventory, establishing budgets, and determining prices for menu items are essential attributes for this role.Key Responsibilities:      Preparing and cooking authentic Chinese dishes.     Experience in running sections in high-paced kitchens at the highest standard.      Standardise the portion of the dish according to the weight and cost.      Develop and plan menus and weekly specials.      Manage food costing and inventory.      Take part in leading, mentoring and managing the culinary team.      Monitoring the quality of dishes, including preparation, cooking and presentation.      Compliance with the hygiene practices of the organisation. Keeping a proper record of the inventory.      Maintaining the equipment and work area neat and clean to ensure the kitchen is kept at a specific level of hygiene      Reporting management about any incident that can cause a safety issue at the workplace.      Smooth delivery of prepared food to the customers according to their orders      Maintaining high cooking standards and memorising the specifications of popular menu items.      Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on cooking methods to other culinary staff.Job Requirements:         At least three years of relevant work experience or a vocational qualification in culinary arts comparable to NZ qualification at Level 4.      Creative culinary skills with meticulous attention to detail     Ability to run sections in a high-paced kitchen      Excellent time management skills and strong work ethic      Excellent communication and teamwork skills How to Apply:Please submit your application, including your resume and a brief cover letter detailing your experience and why you would be a great fit for this role.We are an equal-opportunity employer, and we look forward to receiving your application.
