Job Description Job Description CHILDCARE SITE SUPERVISIOR $500 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE!! Job Overview: Childcare Site Supervisor is a vital role in the YMCA Before and After School Care team. The Childcare Site Supervisor will be dedicated to a specific program site location(s) (works with an office in the school) and is responsible for the oversight of the afterschool program in partnership with the collaborating school. The Site Supervisor serves as the primary contact to the school administration and faculty. Part-time, Morning and/or Afternoon Locations : Kingston City Schools, Rondout Valley, New Paltz, Ellenville, Highland, and Marlboro School Districts Hourly pay rate : $16.00 -$18.00 Responsibilities: Administer the day-to-day operation of the afterschool program, ensuring that all the program components are implemented as planned. Monitor student enrollment Implement activities per plan assuring all children are engaged with activities. Assist counselors as needed Prepare and monitor staff schedule at all times, modifying it as necessary to maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios. Coordinate with the school's administration, teachers, and other community as needed. Evaluate program quality and fidelity, implementing necessary steps to remedy weaknesses according to Y-USA measurement and evaluation guidelines. Promote a team concept through a positive approach to supervision, communication, and interactions with others. Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor and appropriate staff at all levels of the YMCA. Qualifications and Experience Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have at EITHER Associates degree in similar field, OR 18 credits in childhood development or related field and one year experience OR Two years of relevant experience working with children under the age of 13 in an educational setting and High School Diploma or equivalent Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults. Positive role model with strong leadership, conflict resolution and diplomacy skills. Must be capable of directing the daily administrative, program related, and supervisory responsibilities of the Afterschool Program. The Afterschool Site Supervisor is a part-time position dedicated to a specific program site location(s) (works with an office in the school) and is responsible for the oversight of the afterschool program in partnership with the collaborating school. The Site Supervisor serves as the primary contact to the school administration and faculty and helps establish the YUSA signature program at the assigned school. Position provides day-to-day supervision for a short summer program that compliments summer learning at Chambers Elementary School in Kingston, NY from July 26th through August 13th from 1:30-5:30 pm daily, M-F. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The Before/Afterschool Site Supervisor must have the competencies, skills and proven leadership ability to successfully carry out the YMCA mission, goals and vision for serving the community.
