We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who has a desire or passion to work with neurodiverse children and young people and their families and caregivers.
The role is to work as part of a multidisciplinary team including, paediatricians, nurses, psychologists, and other allied health professionals, such as therapy staff and social workers. The purpose is to support diagnosis of neurodiverse conditions and to help families and caregivers to navigate community networks and specialist agencies that specifically work with neurodiversity.
The child development nurse also works very closely with school staff, including RTLB (Resource Teacher Learning Behaviour) this is to better understand how the child or young person copes in the learning environment (to gather information to support a referral being accepted/or not and to inform the clinician completing the assessment paediatrician/psychologist)
To be successful in this role you will have experience (this is a senior nurse position) and the desire to work with children and young people and their families, you may have experience of working in paediatrics or CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service)
You will enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team where everyone has a contribution to make to the client journey. You will work closely with a nursing colleague and support each other to manage workloads and client expectation.
You will have experience in case management and understand the need for good systems and processes in your work to ensure that referred clients are contacted and helped toaccess the support they need in the community
