About the opportunity
Located in the Southland Head Office, reporting to the Board of Directors and leading a team of talented professionals, the Chief Executive Officer takes overall accountability for leading Southsure Insurance to realise its strategic and operational objectives. In doing this, the Chief Executive Officer will:
Develop and lead the implementation of well-considered strategies that deliver sustainable business growth and performance;
Authentically lead a diverse and experienced team of professionals – ensuring all team members are engaged, supported and achieving their individual and team goals and creating a truly collaborative and high performing executive team;
Develop and effectively manage strong stakeholder and partner relationships through careful and targeted communications and initiatives; leveraging relationships to enhance business performance;
Lead and support operational performance; ensuring all parts of the company are operating efficiently, effectively and in alignment with objectives;
Provide executive oversight on all compliance and regulatory matters; ensuring the company is compliant and risks are properly managed;
Proactively contribute as a high performing member of the wider SBS Group; driving the performance of the Group as a whole.

About you
To be successful as the Chief Executive Officer, you will have extensive leadership experience within the broader financial services sector and you will be able to demonstrate your commercial capability and your regulatory knowledge as a leader in this context.
You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification, have success in both sales and operational leadership coupled with a commitment to developing high performing teams and individuals.
A natural collaborator and leader – both within an organisation and of the market externally - you understand the benefits of working alongside your colleagues, stakeholders and partners to safeguard business performance gains. Your passion for the customer experience means that you will know how people want to transact to take up their financial services and what is important to them when making such decisions.
