Job Description of Chef (Including but not limited to) ·        Planning, Preparation, Seasoning, cooking and presenting dishes within your specialty in catering ·        Assist with stock ordering and monitoring procedures ·        Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health & safety at all times ·        Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality ·        Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment ·        Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and minimum waste ·        Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities ·        Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements ·        Plan menus and estimate food requirements ·        Training   other new   kitchen staff ·        Demonstrate excellent food preparation practices and portion control ·        Follow all kitchen processes and procedures ·        Perform any reasonable duties as required from time to time Requirements ·        A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a South Indian restaurant or relevant qualifications in culinary arts. ·        Able to do early mornings starting at 4 am. ·        Proficiency in operating and updating a Food Control Plan. ·        Thorough understanding of South Indian cooking methods, ingredient utilization, and kitchen procedures. ·        Ability to collaborate effectively with managers, kitchen staff, and front-of-house teams. ·        Strong organizational skills, including anticipating preparation levels during peak service periods. ·        Capacity to follow instructions from management and execute food preparation and service to our standards. ·        Dedication to maintaining a clean, hygienic kitchen environment and following food safety protocols. ·        Awareness of current promotions and menu offerings. ·        Commitment to fostering a positive team environment and assisting colleagues as needed. ·        Compliance with NZ Health and Safety regulations and company policies. ·        Willingness to undergo police vetting and drug testing. ·        NZ Citizen, residency or a valid NZ work permit. ·        We offer a competitive hourly rate starting at $29.66 - $33.66 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.  Two Full-time positions available minimum from 30 - 40 hours per week with a 7-day roster, providing stability and opportunities for growth within our team.      Two positions are available. ·        To apply, please submit your CV and cover letter online, or contact us for more information.
