Chef Wanted Location: Christchurch, Canterbury Employment Type: Full-time (guaranteed 30hours / per week), Permanent Our pay: $29.66-$32.00 per hour We are a reputable restaurant based in Christchurch . We are now looking for four Chefs to enhance our team. We are expecting someone who has a passion for customer service, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and be a proactive member of the team. You are required to: · Planning menu items, participating in the organisation of ordering, cost controlling and wastage of food · Prepare and create a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, maki, and sashimi, according to established recipes and standards. · Checking and monitoring the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met · Determining how food should be presented, and creating decorative food displays · Demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to staff · Estimating amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients · Implementing and following strict rules of personal hygiene and ensure machinery is operated, cleaned and stored correctly; kitchen drawers and shelves are cleaned and tidy · Complying with all Company Policies and legal requirements with special reference to Health and Safety to ensure all procedures: Health and Safety, and Food Safety · Management are maintained to the required standards · Participating in selecting and training new/current kitchen staff whenever it is required To be successful you will need: · A t least 3 years of relevant work experience in the same field; OR · Have a relevant level 4 or equivalent qualification/certificate. · Good eye for detail and an ability to learn fast. · A "can-do" attitude.
