Required experienced Indian Chef for a busy Indian restaurant Skills the person needs to have are in curry and tandoori dishes It is advantage to have knowledge of south India food and other ethnic dishes The position is full time and permanent Tasks Responsibilities Indian Chef Preparation and presentation of selected food items Should be able to make traditional Indian cuisines Able to make good estimations of raw material required and the cost involved Ordering requests for purchasing Planning and preparing menus and help in estimating cost Set up station in accordance to the business level and keep stocked for service Keep the food cost under control Discuss with Restaurant Manager of improvements required for the growth of the business To preserve the food and freeze them as required Follow the maintenance and health and safety issues and meet hygiene Delegating and supervising to Kitchen staff Train and mentor junior staff The successful applicant for the position must have At least 35 years of work experience in the Tandoori and Curry dishes and capable of working in a busy environment and knowledge of Indian Cuisine Any qualification in food and safety or cooker would be an advantage Be flexible to work daily split shifts Lunch dinner and weekends where required Be experienced in taking full control of kitchen NZ residents and citizens are most welcome to apply Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa Please Note We reply only to short listed applicants if you send in your CV and don t hear back from us we thank you for your interest and wish you best for your job hunt
