About the role Achieving the best health outcomes for our patients starts with expecting the best from ourselves, and right now Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is looking for a motivated Anaesthetic Technician to join our Perioperative Services at the Whangarei Hospital. The Charge Anaesthetic Technician is responsible for providing clinical coordination, professional leadership and direction to the Anaesthetic Technician Team to maximise healthcare delivery, enhance patient outcomes, and promote clinical excellence and evidence-based professional practice. The are 9 operating theatres. You will be working on specialties including orthopaedics, general surgery, plastics, gynaecology, urology, trauma, maxillofacial, dental, ophthalmology and ENT. Being a regional hospital, your patients will range in age from paediatric right through to geriatric. This is a varied role where no two days will feel the same – whether it is providing on the floor clinical support to staff, training and development, leadership or quality improvement activities. The Charge Anaesthetic Technician works closely with anaesthetists and the perioperative team to provide the best health outcome for patients. This is a permanent 1.0 FTE role working 40 hours per week. The position is worked as 9 hour shifts.
