In this role you will be responsible for audits and investigations into areas of high risk and non-compliance within the vehicle certification sector.Drawing on your vehicle certification experience and excellent Vehicle Inspection Requirement Manuals (VIRM) knowledge, you will regularly visit and engage with regulated parties in your region to ensure that they are meeting compliance and legislative requirements to a range of situations such as:Routine performance reviews of Inspecting Organisations (IO's) and Vehicle Inspectors (VI's)Investigating vehicle certification complaints and regional investigations against IO's and VI'sResponding appropriately to non-compliance and safety issues using a range of compliance support and enforcement interventions to ensure a safe land transport systemYou will be required to write high quality reports relating to those visits which will include your findings and implementation of statutory interventions and other regulatory activities as necessary. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and experience:Strong Warrant of Fitness (WoF) and Certification of Fitness (CoF) experienceExcellent knowledge and understanding of VIRMs for CoF/WoFand the QMSThe ability to address specific issues and find resolutions within regulatory guidelinesHigh degree of confidence using multiple IT systems including strong skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookExperience in interviewingExcellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to write well-reasoned, articulate reports and ability to relate well with people at all levelsExcellent organisational skills to priorities risk and competing work demandsQualifications:Current or recent WoF or CoF authoritiesNZ Certificate in Automotive Engineering L4 or 5Full Driver Licence is preferred with no convictions including demeritsYou will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori.
