Summerset at the Course Retirement Village in Trentham, Upper Hutt caters for the care centre and village residents, as well as our onsite café, and functions. Our kitchen team work hard but have fun along the way.
In this position you will support our chefs by keeping the kitchen clean and doing dishes (lots of them!). You will also assist with basic food preparation such as making sandwiches and mixing drinks, and the serving of good wholesome meals to residents.
To be successful you will need to:
- have good time management skills and the ability to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
- be able to work safely in an industrial kitchen with large hot pots and trays.
- be resilient and able to stay cool under pressure in a busy environment.
- be friendly and engaging and motivated to contribute as part of our team that makes the day of residents by serving amazing meals.
Normal hours of work are 30 per week rostered Monday to Sunday between 8.30am and 7.30pm. Additional hours may be required from time to time to cover staff leave.
