Based in our Christchurch office (or on the stunning West Coast in Hokitika) and reporting to the Head of Indirect Procurement, we are looking for an experienced Category Manager - Indirect Procurement to join our diverse and dedicated Procurement team. This role will lead and support the business in effective procurement practices through driving appropriate processes and outputs, increasing transparency and visibility and enabling Westland Milk Products to plan and budget effectively.
Your key responsibilities: Lead and develop procurement strategy in assigned portfolio categoriesIdentify and adopt best procurement practices in conjunction with procurement policy,Support the definition and ongoing implementation of global sustainable procurement and corporate social responsibility initiativesWork with key business stakeholders and internal customers on facilitating procurement requirementsEnd-to-end sourcing activities, establishing and documenting business requirementsThe facilitation and completion of tender processes, documentation and contract negotiations to managing suppliersOur successful applicant will likely possess: Previous proven experience in a Category Management / Procurement Specialist roleStrong knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles, a strong procurement process background along with a good understanding of the market and consumer insights and trendsCIPS qualification or the desire to achieve this would be advantageousStrong attention to detail with an analytical and logical approachWell-developed facilitation and negotiation skillsThe ability to exercise good judgement and display sound decision-making skillsExceptional communication and relationship management skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the businessA drive to support sustainable procurement and corporate social responsibility initiativesGood time management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks/workloadsThis is a fantastic opportunity to join Westland Milk Products, where you will be offered a competitive salary, company incentive scheme, health and other insurances, free parking (+ delicious, discounted grass fed butter!!!), and a workplace you are proud to say you are a part of!!!
