About the Role | Mo te Turanga We're looking for a Category Development Manager - Commercial, to work alongside the merchandise trading teams, supporting and facilitating the delivery of commercial pricing and promotional strategies.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager - Promotions & Pricing, you will play a key part in cross functionally delivering commercial outputs that align with our operating plans, helping to ensure our value proposition is supported by effective promotional and pricing strategies, tools and guardrails.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to work with commercial analysts, translating commercial pricing and promotional strategies into tools and insights to effectively achieve these strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
Be a part of a commercial pricing and promotional optimisation team that will improve the pricing and promotional performance of WWNZ, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and capabilities to deliver measurable value
Support our promotions programme for WWNZ including the processes and tool kits that sit within this initiative
Work across merchandise trading teams to support the management of pricing and promotions in general, ensuring the necessary tools, tracking and governance processes are adhered to
Actively participate in regular commercial forums for the merchandise leadership team, organising and facilitating such forums as needed
Work end-to-end and build strong connections and collaborative relationships across the merchandise team, commercial optimisation team, and analytics partners
Execute initiatives to support the achievement of key merchandise targets including price index targets, guardrails, and promotional targets, but also support the achievement of broader merchandise targets including sales, profit, price and value perception
Upskill category teams to ensure they can confidently develop and execute effective pricing and promotional strategies, are competent in the use of pricing and promotional tools, and follow the agreed processes and ways of working that will form part of our approach to the pricing and buying strategy
Provide support as required to the Commercial Manager - Promotions and Pricing, General Manager Commercial, and the Merchandise leadership team relating to general commercial performance and pricing and promotional matters
About You | Mou Ideally you'll have demonstrated experience within category management gained within a retail environment. You will have a strong foundation in - and passion for - analytics, and will be comfortable developing commercial strategies using a range of analytical resources. As a key interface with the merchandise trading teams, you'll thrive in training and coaching others and have worked across matrixed organisations to deliver commercial strategies to drive business growth.
The role requires exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills with demonstrated ability to build credibility.
