We're looking for a Project Lead for the newly formed Wairarapa Catchment Collective. The Wairarapa Catchment Collective is an Incorporated Society focused on supporting existing catchment groups and catchment group leaders in the Wairarapa for the long term. This role is a 0.5 FTE, 12-month fixed term contract based in the Wairarapa with potential to extend the contract. We are also recruiting a Partnership Lead role and will consider combining the two roles based on the skills and experience of applicants. The Wairarapa has a great history of successful catchment groups. This next phase for Wairarapa Catchment Groups is focused on delivering an explicit pathway for supporting existing Wairarapa catchment groups, the development of new catchment groups and implementing catchment action plans. About the role The Wairarapa Catchment Collective is about building capability and coordinating the platform of catchment needs for groups in the Wairarapa. This is a newly formed incorporated society that will build on the existing relationships, projects and plans in catchment community groups across the Wairarapa. The purpose of the role is to design, develop and manage the implementation of the Wairarapa Catchment Collective project plan to support catchment communities, connect catchment needs with resources, and identify and pursue funding opportunities. Key responsibilities Take responsibility for planning, overseeing and implementation of the project plan to ensure services are delivered to expected standards, timeframes and the work plan. Develop, forecast and manage the overall budget and resources for the project and present monthly financial reports and project updates to the Management Committee of the Wairarapa Catchment Collective. Provide clarity around purpose and goals for the project duration. Skills and experience required Demonstrated project management and facilitation experience. Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Effective communicator with diverse stakeholders, including tangata whenua. Proficient in computer literacy and analytical problem-solving. Respect and understanding of the rural sector and a passion for the environment. Preferably experienced in working with community groups. High-level negotiation and conflict management skills. The Wairarapa Catchment Collective will be partnering with Greater Wellington Regional Council and Mountains to Sea Wellington to ensure that catchment groups have a one-stop shop to benefit from the full range of resources and expertise we can collectively provide. This collaboration fosters better connections and collaboration across the region. By working together, we can share knowledge and provide more efficient coordination, ensuring that the support we offer is responsive and tailored to the unique needs of catchment groups.
