He Puna Waiora meaning "a pool of wellness" is a 46 bed Adult Acute Inpatient Unit which replaced the 35 bed Taharoto Unit. The unit was been designed to provide a high level of flexibility in the use of acute beds. There is a number of sensory & comfort rooms with multiple lounges, relaxation and programme spaces for service users.
This unit works collaboratively with the community teams on the North Shore and Rodney districts. We relish a fresh way of thinking and would like to change the concept of inpatient care.
We are looking for Registered Mental Health Nurses, who
Enjoy nursing with a holistic approach
Relish new innovative ways of treating and caring for service users
Actively support and practice in a way which reduces the use of restraint and seclusion
Are pro-active by constantly striving for a positive outcome for service users
Naturally look outside the square when it comes to service users
Who are enthusiastic, flexible, driven and are ready to make a difference
Have experience in mental health with a current Annual Practising Certificate
