Part Time Application Closes 20 May 2024 Gisborne - Gisborne Cook, Institution and Cafeteria Mo Tenei Turanga Mahi | About the RoleTo support the Team Leader and Commercial Manager in establishing The EIT Campus Cafe as the premier food service provider by ensuring there is a primary focus on a passion for food and an excellence in service.The appointing salary for this role will be between $45,413 and $47,709, dependent on skills and experience.The Café Assistant is based at our EIT | Te Pukenga Tairawhiti campus reporting to the Tourism & Hospitality School and Campus Café Team Leader and will be responsible for: Maintaining and participating in in stock control Assisting Team Leader with records of food sales for staff and students Preparing and cooking fresh food items for the campus café including on and off-site catering and function events Preparing and serving Barista Conducting schedule maintenance and ensuring high standards of cleanliness in kitchen, restaurant, preparation area and barista area Undertaking additional responsibilities and tasks relevant to this position as requested by the position manager He korero mou| About youTo be successful in this role you will have: Experience in hospitality stock control Expertise in and current knowledge of food hygiene regulations and food safety plans Good interpersonal and customer facing skills, able to empathise, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness, within a sometimes-pressurised environment Enjoy prepping food, developing recipes and taking pride in presentation Love coffee, developing skills, relationship with customer orders and taking pride in presentation Mo Matou | About usEIT a business division of Te Pukenga, is a vibrant and progressive tertiary institute with campus locations in Tairawhiti (Gisborne), Hawkes Bay and Auckland with learning centres located throughout the region.EIT | Te Pukenga is committed to giving effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and delivering services in a manner that responds to the needs of Maori learners and their whanau, as well as the aspirations of iwi and Maori communities throughout our region (including Maori employers).
