About the Role:Our Food & Grocery division has gone from strength to strength over the years, with growth in sales and increased product offering. We are looking for an experienced and commercial Buyer/Category Manager to join this high performing team.
The Buyer role is equal parts complex and interesting! Accountable for creating category strategies, building compelling product ranges and promotional plans, you will have the opportunity to truly influence decisions, deliver exceptional offerings that create value for our customers and drive commercial results in your fast-moving categories.
This role is critical to our success. Your key responsibilities will include:
Range design, shelf opportunities and promotional activations that speak to our customers
Commercial planning and activations for new products
Deliver sales, margin, and stock results to budget
Working cross-functionally to develop and implement the strategic direction of your category
Work closely with sourcing and suppliers to meet our customers’ needs

About You:To be successful in this position, you’re someone who understands how to create a compelling range using a mix of data and creativity – you back your range decisions with facts and strong shopper and customer insights. You also have a well-rounded understanding of the product lifecycle within the FMCG space.
We are looking for someone with:
Extensive food buying/category management experience within retail or FMCG
Experience growing an own brand category
Proven ability to buy in complex sectors
Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
A customer driven focus, and superior communication and negotiation skills
The ability to utilise promotional activity and advertising to maximum effect
Collaborative working style with excellent stakeholder management skills
Decisiveness in a fast-moving environment as well as a resilient and driven nature
