Ballance Agri-Nutrients is a New Zealand farmer-owned co-operative that helps its customers to farm more productively, pro?tably and sustainably.

About the role

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing growth strategies and tactical plans to identify new market opportunities and generate new revenue on the North Island's East Coast.

As a seasoned Business Development Specialist, you will be proactive and resilient with a drive for winning new business. You will have 5+ years' experience in a similar role and can demonstrate high levels of motivation, the ability to prioritise and the agility to handle an ever-changing sales landscape.

This opportunity will require a hunger for sales growth, great relationship management skills and the ability to successfully deliver the new customer driven philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs, as well as developing growth strategies and tactical plans for new business opportunities
Ensure new customers understand the importance of feed to meet their business goals and agribusiness professionals are engaged locally
Understand sheep and beef farm systems at an extensive level before moving into solutions (emphasis on connect, collate and diagnosis)
Develop and maintain local Ballance Agribusiness networks
Continuously identify and evaluate opportunities to improve and add value to the business through customers and industry connections
Work collaboratively with the wider sales team to ensure Ballance’s reputation is enhanced within industry and the community
Key Requirements:
Deep understanding of sheep and beef systems
Business development experience in agriculture and an in-depth knowledge of the NZ Agricultural Industry
5+ years working within a business to customer (retail) sales environment
Experience working to and exceeding targets
Excellent relationship building skills
In-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition
Strong influencing and negotiation skills
Resilient
