Business Analyst and Senior Business Analyst
• 12 Month Fixed Term / Secondment
• National Office, Wellington
The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is the lead agency for the social sector. We help the Government to set priorities across the sector, co-ordinate the actions of other social sector agencies and track changes in the social wellbeing of New Zealanders.
Who's the team?
You will be working as part of an Agile product delivery team that's focused on delivering self-service/web-based solutions. There will be some ongoing support work to our current products as well as long term implementations of digital products. The team aims to make a difference in the lives of New Zealanders and in turn we are looking for a clear thinker with a natural attention to detail. You should feel comfortable working 2-3 sprints ahead of the development team as this will ensure that all user stories are well defined and fully fleshed out in preparation for upcoming sprints.
Responsibilities:
• Engage with stakeholders, delivery team members and vendors to fully understand, communicate and document process, workflows, requirements and solutions.
• Support the Product Owner with delivery planning, grooming, estimation and prioritisation of the backlog.
• Analyse and understand business needs and translate them into fit for purpose user stories/requirements with clear acceptance criteria.
• Provide day to day support around our current product and services.
• Providing a user focussed mentality to the new services.
• Facilitate requirements gathering workshops with Subject Matter Experts.
• Work with system & UAT testers to support the completion of testing activities.
• Establish credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of business outcomes.
• Provide reporting and feedback from stakeholders, users and team members around discovery across new products and services.
Experience you'll bring:
• Experience working as a Business Analyst in an Agile environment.
• Experience creating user stories that focus on digital applications.
• Experience defining business requirements.
• Experience with design principles and Customer Experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
We have roles available to suit both a Business Analyst and Senior Business Analyst skillset.
