He angitutanga - The opportunity Our district is undergoing significant growth, and the pace is relentless! We are currently seeking a dedicated Building Advisory Officer to join our Housing and Business Development Group. In this position, your responsibilities will include processing building consent applications, inspecting and certifying consented works, all while delivering excellent customer service to our community. Collaboration is key in our team, and your role (wherever your current competency level sits) will involve supporting colleagues by leveraging your industry knowledge and prior experience to contribute to achieving team outcomes. This not only contributes to our collective skill development but also aligns with our competency-based remuneration scheme for you and our building team. He korero mou - About you If you're customer-focused, possess excellent communication skills, and are eager to learn, you'll excel in this role. Whether you're an experienced builder willing to undergo training or already hold qualifications in this space, your positive attitude will be invaluable. Your attention to detail will shine when reviewing design plans and specifications. Familiarity with building controls and industry standards is essential, however we can support in in obtaining the appropriate qualification outlined in Regulation 18 of the Building Regulations (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) 2006.
