Branch Manager

House of Science design science resource kits for use in primary and intermediate schools. Each branch runs their own library of kits that are delivered to, and collected from, member schools based on a booking system. The kits are maintained by a team of volunteers with oversight from the Branch Manager. We are looking for a new manager for our Tairawhiti branch based in Gisborne. The position reports to the national Business Development Manager so the successful candidate will self-manage and have a certain amount of autonomy. The ideal person will be highly organised with a high degree of attention to detail. As well as being a people person, comfortable working with school teachers and business people, the ideal candidate will be a capable manager, recruiting and managing a team of volunteers. The primary responsibilities of this role are: Seek sponsorship from local businesses to purchase science resource kits. Promote House of Science amongst primary and intermediate schools to increase school membership. Deliver/collect and maintain science resource kits. Manage a team of volunteers who will help maintain and deliver/collect the kits.
