As the AVP, Corporate Accounting, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Corporate Accounting team, overseeing the general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. You will ensure that all financial statements and disclosures are accurate, complete, and in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Manage the Corporate Accounting team, providing guidance and direction on accounting issues and complex transactions Oversee the general ledger and month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements Collaborate with other departments, including Actuarial, Investments, and Tax, to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls and compliance with company policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements Provide guidance and support to the Vice President of Corporate Accounting on key accounting issues and initiatives Keep up-to-date with accounting standards, regulations, and industry developments, ensuring that the company remains compliant with all applicable requirements Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification 7+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements Experience managing a team of accounting professionals Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environment Willingness to work at a granular level, including reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The AVP, Corporate Accounting will have the opportunity to work remotely and will be eligible for promotion to Vice President.
