Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga (HNZPT) is New Zealand's lead agency for heritage conservation and promotion, and heritage property management. The Tamaki Makaurau Auckland property cluster includes Highwic, Alberton, Ewelme and Ruatuna within the wider HNZPT property portfolio. .
As the Auckland Heritage Properties Lead you will be responsible for the day-to-day conservation and management of these significant heritage places, their collections, and team of passionate staff and volunteers - as well as working within the wider national HNZPT team.
You will be responsible for property maintenance and manage the team to provide an exceptional visitor experiences, as well as liaising with partners and stakeholders. Budget management and organising events are key aspects of the position as well as increasing visitor engagement including education opportunities and revenue generation.
We are seeking a dynamic person, strong in leadership and team coordination. Excellent interpersonal skills and a love of the historic environment are crucial along with an ability to network, recognise new opportunities and manage complex situations.
A tertiary qualification and/or demonstrable experience in a relevant field such as architecture, heritage, museums, cultural management, and/or tourism is required.
